PROVIDING COMPETITIVE AND ECO-FRIENDLY LOGISTIC SERVICE
Established in 1939 Bengal River Service (BRS) is a river transportation and shipbuilding business. During the British and Pakistan period cargo vessels of BRS used to ply between Naryanganj and Calcutta via Mongla. KWT premises at Naryanganj has a graving dock (dry dock) along with different workshops relating to shipbuilding and repair. Till 1990 this was the main income- generating unit of KWT. Exportable jute was the main cargo for this unit. With the development of artificial fiber the requirement of jute all over the world went on the decline causing loss of business to Kumudini.
River transportation is in the midst of a revival and Kumudini with its long history in this sector, is in a position of advantage to cash in. Using its vast experience and infrastructure, BRS looks forward to a bright future.
